Gunner on the job as a journeyman scaffold carpenter, Longview, WA
I'm Gunner Skolrud — a lifelong Cowlitz County local, and the guy who actually shows up when I-5 Cleaning cleans your home or business.
Before I ever picked up a mop, I built a career in the trades: industrial scaffolding, roofing, pipe work, union carpentry through Local 503. I still work as a journeyman scaffold carpenter at a shipyard today. On a job like that, there's no such thing as "good enough" — a scaffold either holds, or it doesn't.
That's the standard I brought home with me. I-5 Cleaning isn't something I'm phoning in on the side — I built it the same way I build everything else: no shortcuts, no guesswork, done right the first time.
I'm working two jobs right now because I've got a young daughter, and I want to be the one who's there to pick her up from school someday, not stuck on a jobsite.
These days I've got a small crew backing me up, but every job still runs through me. I'm the one who trains them, checks the work, and makes sure it's done to the same standard I'd hold myself to.
When you book with I-5 Cleaning, you're not talking to a call center. You're talking to me.
